Values are foundational beliefs that anchor our lives. The non-negotiable characteristics that most clearly define us. In my life and my coaching, scripture is the only authority and it is the guide book for daily living.
For if not…”just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3
Don’t fit God around your schedule; fit your schedule around God.
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
My success is measured by daily obedience to the teachings of Jesus and giving all glory to God. I succeed when I seek God’s will for decisions and I place God’s will above my own and through my actions, God receives the glory.
Mark 12:30-31 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”
I walk by Faith – Not by Sight
I lean into God’s promises as found in His word, no matter the circumstance.
2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
My identity lives in Christ alone.
I look only to God for His affirmation.
John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
I give Grace.
God pours His grace on me daily and therefore I generously give grace to others.
1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them-yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”
Ephesians 4:29 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
I take up my cross daily.
I put to rest my own ideas, plans, wants and desires in exchange for Him.
Luke 9:23 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
I give Mercy.
God pours His mercy on me daily and therefore I generously give mercy to others.
Lamentations 3:22-23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
Luke 6:36 “Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.”
I am aware that idolatry is in my heart.
I humble myself daily to the Lord and ask Him to search my heart and remove what is unclean. I actively seek to tear down idols in my life (money; pride; things; people; acceptance; validation.)
1 John 5:21 “Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.”
I give Forgiveness.
God pours His forgiveness on me daily and therefore I generously give forgiveness to others.
Psalm 86:5 “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.
Colossians 3:13 “bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”
